Why do we get wrinkles?
Aging is the main cause behind wrinkles. Once we start aging, the collagen production on our body reduces and cause in losing the elasticity of our skin cells. The skin cells become thinner as well. Repair and renewal of skin is delayed as the division of skin cells are slowed. Another thing contributing to wrinkles is the fat cells just inside your skin becoming smaller and lose their capacity to cover the empty slots formed due to the damage on the inner skin layers. These fat cells are usually responsible for making your skin look supple. All these together causes your skin to sag, get dryer and form wrinkles.
Another cause of wrinkles is skin damage, especially the kind caused by too much exposure to sun light. If you stay out in the sun for too long without or with insufficient sun screen, it may result in making your skin over exposed to ultra violet radiation. Epidermis, the outer layer of your skin, is made thin by over exposure to sun light. This in turn causes extra production of melanin which will eventually result in skin cancer. Under constant sun light exposure, the break down of collagen in your skin is also increased, causing in premature aging. Loss of collagen causes in losing the elasticity of the skin and will in turn cause wrinkles.
Another cause of wrinkles on your body is creation of free radicals on your skin. Free radicals are unstable Oxygen molecules which are formed on your body some times, and they do not have one of the two electrons. Free radicals speed up the destruction of collagen on your skin. Now what are the causes behind free radicals forming? They are formed due to over exposure of ultra violet rays, air pollution, cigarette smoking etc.
You may not know about this one, but one of the causes behind wrinkles is gravity. Sags and jowls are formed on your skin when gravity pulls at your skin.
Wrinkles are perfectly natural to happen. You have no chance of avoiding them. You may start finding them in your early twenties or thirties. It is very expensive to under go facelift or any other cosmetic surgery procedure. There is no need to despair as there are some other cheaper and efficient methods to tackle wrinkles and keep your facial skin looking young and sexy.
Ways to diminish wrinkles

Another is by having a good diet and staying hydrated always. A regular diet of fruits, vegetables and lot of fish will help your body from free radicals as the vitamins and minerals contained in them prevent the creation of free radicals in the human body. Drinking a lot of water and fruit juices will help the body to stay hydrated. Do not drink any thing with caffeine in it like coffee or black tea.
